A day in the life: Recruitment Advisor
Name: Luke Price
Location: HR Business Centre
Role: Recruitment Advisor
I am the Recruitment Advisor responsible for all recruitment activity across the technology portfolio. My day to day duties include advertising roles through e-recruitment, short listing, interviewing, issuing feedback and offering job opportunities to candidates. Then between both the Recruitment Administrator & I, we manage their on boarding process and ensure that their start with BTP is a smooth process.
At the start of my employment with BTP I shadowed a member of staff that was currently doing the Recruitment Advisor role; they were also available for me to speak to if I ever had any problems or questions. I have also been given the opportunity to attend courses in relevance to my role such as Customer Service Skills, Data Protection & an Assessor Course.
I decided I wanted to join BTP after researching the organisation. I liked the missions and values that BTP work to and it seemed an interesting organisation to join – something different to the normal day to day role I’d previously had.
My family and friends are extremely proud of me, working for an organisation which makes a difference and they are always interested to hear about what I’ve been doing.
Prior to starting with BTP I thought it would be a very serious and formal atmosphere. This is not the case; I have the pleasure of working with one of the most energetic, yet professional teams I’ve ever worked with, which has been a refreshing change.
Through every process BTP are committed to embedding equality & diversity throughout the organisation. BTP provides a 24/7 helpline which any employee can contact for advice, we also have various different support groups including Women’s Support Forum, DESA (Disability Equality Support Association) & SAME (Support Association for Minority Ethnic Staff).
